StickDo coordinates the sense of balance and attention in a harmonious dance with the gravity. StickDo exercises train both the mind and the body in a holistic way. It is a series of balance, mobility, and stability exercises aimed at reaching a higher level of conscious awareness and becoming one with the body.
Since 2010, StickDo has been used as a treatment and prevention method at Amagerbro Physiotherapy in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The stick is used as a compass to guide and enhance precision and accuracy of movement. It is also used to measure the length and elasticity of muscles. Whenever you push the stick in any direction, it will move your centre of gravity to the opposite side to secure your stability and balance. It also promotes an erect position that keeps you thoroughly rooted to the ground, so you will feel centred and easily balanced and will avoid being distracted. It gives you a feeling of the here and now. It increases and awakens your awareness. You will realize that both of you are sharing the same foundation. Both of you have the earth underneath and are connected to the
same source of energy.
When the mind and body are disconnected, it affects both physical balance and mental tranquility. StickDo can help us regain the equilibrium as it emphasizes on consciousness-controlling skills instead of focusing exclusively on physical performance.
The neurological and mental exercises are stimulating attention and focus. Both athletes and ordinary people will benefit from these drills to regulate tension in the brain and the body.
Specific mobility and stability exercises for the whole body. These exercises can be used as rehabilitation, as prevention of physical injury, and as therapeutic tools.
StickDo exercises are also simple and elegant. Those who does not like to exercise, the Stick brings motivation since one feels the assistance that the stick provides to stretch and release the tensions from the body and mind.
It can also substitute a physiotherapist guidance because the stick allows them to go through certain movements that otherwise would need a physiotherapists or trainers assistance. Those who find it difficult to concentrate on mental exercises the Stick also gives them guidance, so everyone could be able to stretch their mind and attention with the help of the Stick.
